Fate

Fate only makes sense in the context of the things and the people you love and care about. Only in the face of some future event that might impact this context, fate becomes worth thinking about.

But since any future event might arrive at any given moment, the best choice is to live each moment as if it were the last.

Nietzsche brought this point home in one of his short stories in which at the end of a persons life a higher being speaks to the person and tells her that she will relive her life in the exact same way over and over again.

The only way to not be horrified by a fate like this, is to live your life in a way that is worth living over and over again.
