Art is a language that does not require words. For some things any word we might come up with seems to be inadequate because the things it would try to describe are too complex, interwoven, big, grandiose to fit into something mundane like a word.

This is what art can do for us. It tries to distill a feeling into a documentable form like a painting, sculpture, music, dance, photography or some other form of artistic expression.

My favourite pieces of art create a very specific feeling. This feeling might not be what the artist intended (if she intended to transmit anything) but sometimes people have misunderstandings about much more mundane things than their feelings.
